ForGrowth is a Social Startup striving to simplify, centralise and digitalise the process of PDW’s career awareness, education and placement which is user centric and not system centric.

Brief: I was employed as a resource professional to provide design services to one of the teams. I chose the team ForGrowth for its novel and vital concept which creates enormous impact for many.

Role: Principle UX Designer.
for the team ForGrowth to guide the team through the concept to delivery stage. Team was selected for the final Top 3 after the design phase.

Concept to Delivery for the

Social Start-up ForGrowth

Forgrowth collaborates with the job givers, job seekers and the facility providers being the well established NGOs to map the skills of the PWDs to education and jobs in a very efficient manner. It enables the various key players to enter the system solely at crucial and necessary stages and independently. It ensures job discoverability, the option to understand where one stands and maps the the job goals and targets that can be achieved by learning and educating themselves further.

We learnt that employers send requests to the NGOs for PWD vacancies. the NGO approaches the government institutions (taluks) who know the PWDs in their village. They convince the PWDs and their families to take the talents to their NGO in the city where they get trained for a certain jobs.

Goal Statement

To develop a skill assessment platform which will be used by persons with disabilities to help them discover matching skill development resources and career opportunities.

Not one disability but a combination of abilities.

Final Output

The platform becomes a repository for various companies to put up employment queries with required skills and knowledge needed. As our talents enter the platform, they are directed to the general skill assessment. This screen built for inclusive interaction focusing on speech, vision and colour. This assessment is purely to map all the physical abilities of the talents where they attempt all questions that lie within their ability. Using these combinations, the various job roles are mapped which then can be explored along with, the the required academic requirements or subject knowledge. The secondary assessment checks for the talent’s subjective skills and their proficiency in all subjects they choose for one or many preferred job roles. The results and interests can be then notified to their respective NGOs who further take steps or arrange for courses.
